Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Laarpi, written in plain language: what you own, what we do, how plans and credits work, and what is not allowed. This is a draft pending legal review.
Draft, pending legal review. This is a plain-language draft of our terms. A lawyer is reviewing it, and the final version will add our registered company details and the law and courts that govern the agreement. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
These terms are the agreement between you and Laarpi ("we", "us") when you use laarpi.com, the Laarpi studio, sites published through Laarpi, and our Build with experts service. By creating an account or using Laarpi, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data, and our refund policy explains refunds.
What Laarpi is
Laarpi is a coding agent for websites. You describe a site. The agent asks a few questions, writes a plan you can edit, builds the site as code, checks its own work, takes your direction, and publishes the result to a laarpi.site address or your own domain. It can connect sign-in, data and payments using your own Supabase and Polar accounts.
The agent is run by AI models. It is good, and it is not perfect. It can misunderstand you, make mistakes in code or copy, or produce something that does not work the way you expect. Review your site before you publish it, and check anything that matters, such as prices, opening hours, legal text and claims about your business. You are responsible for what you publish.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 to use Laarpi, and old enough to enter a contract where you live to buy a plan.
- Give us accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. On a Business plan, each person on the team has their own seat.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account.
What you own
Your content. The ideas, text, images, files and references you give Laarpi remain yours. You confirm you have the right to use them.
Your sites. The code, copy and plan Laarpi creates for your projects belong to you, as far as the law allows. You can use them, change them, publish them and sell them. Code download is planned and not available yet; once it ships on plans that include it, you can take the files and host them anywhere.
Open-source assets. Laarpi builds with open-source fonts, 3D models, textures, images and code under licences such as CC0, CC-BY, the SIL Open Font License and MIT. Those assets stay under their own licences. Laarpi lists them in the site's credits file and footer. Some licences, such as CC-BY, require that credit, so keep it if you change the site.
What you let us do. To run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content and your sites: to build and preview them, send them to the AI model providers that power the agent, host them when you publish, and show them where you ask us to, such as the community. This permission lasts as long as we need it to provide the service to you, and for community listings, as described below.
Our product. Laarpi itself, including the studio, the agent's instructions, our design catalogue and our brand, belongs to us. Using Laarpi does not give you rights to it beyond using the service as these terms allow.
Community and Remix
You can choose to list a published site in the Laarpi community. It is always your choice, and you can change it at any time.
When you list a site:
- Anyone can see its title, description, tags, cover image, your account display name and avatar, the live site, and how many times it has been viewed and remixed.
- Signed-in users can remix it. A remix gives them a copy of your published site's files and its plan in a new project of their own, which they can change and publish. Remixing is how the community learns from itself, and it is the point of listing.
- You confirm that you have the right to let others copy and adapt the site, including any images or text you added.
If you unlist a site, it leaves the community and can no longer be remixed. Remixes already made remain with the people who made them. If you remix someone else's site, keep any credits the site carries and respect the licences of its assets. We may hide community listings that break these terms. Read more about Remix and browse the community.
Connected accounts: Supabase and Polar
Laarpi can connect to your own Supabase and Polar accounts to give your site sign-in, data and payments.
- Those accounts are yours and are governed by Supabase's and Polar's own terms and pricing. Laarpi is not a party to your agreements with them.
- When you connect an account, you allow Laarpi to act in it on your instructions: for example, to create tables and sign-in settings in Supabase, or products, checkout links and webhooks in Polar. We store the access tokens encrypted and use them only for that.
- You are responsible for your site's visitors and customers: the data your site collects, its privacy notice, the products you sell and how you fulfil them. Polar acts as merchant of record for your sales and has its own rules about what can be sold through it; it is designed for software and digital goods.
- You can disconnect an account at any time from your project settings, and you can revoke Laarpi's access from Supabase or Polar directly.
Plans, credits and billing
- Merchant of record. Paid Laarpi plans are sold through Polar, which acts as merchant of record. Polar processes your payment, charges any applicable sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt.
- Subscriptions renew monthly or yearly, depending on what you choose, until you cancel. You can change plans or cancel from your settings. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
- Credits pay for the agent's work. Each turn costs what it really used, rounded up to whole credits, and you need at least one credit to start a turn. Your plan gives you a monthly allowance; unused credits do not roll over, and they have no cash value. On a Business plan, credits are pooled across seats. Hosting your published sites does not use credits.
- Currencies and regional pricing. Prices are shown in US dollars, in euros across the EU and in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, and in rupees in India, where we offer special pricing. We choose the currency from your location, you can change it on the pricing page, and you pay in the currency shown at checkout. India prices must match where you actually are, and we may ask Polar to correct a purchase made at India prices from elsewhere.
- Price changes. Plan prices and allowances can change. We will tell you before a change affects your subscription, and it will apply from your next billing period.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.
Publishing, hosting and domains
- When you publish, your site is served at an address on laarpi.site. We may decline or reclaim an address that impersonates someone else, misleads visitors or breaks these terms.
- On plans that include custom domains, you can connect domains you own. You are responsible for your domain registration and DNS.
- Sites published on the free plan show a small "Made with Laarpi" mark linking to Laarpi. Paid plans publish without it.
- We work to keep published sites fast and available, but we do not promise they will never be interrupted. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Code download is planned; until it ships, every file can be copied from the Code tab.
Rules for using Laarpi
Do not use Laarpi to make, publish or list anything that:
- is illegal, or helps someone break the law;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- impersonates a person, brand or organisation, or is designed to trick people into giving up passwords, payment details or other personal data;
- contains malware, or attacks or probes other systems;
- sexualises minors, promotes violence or terrorism, or harasses or threatens people;
- sells goods or services that Polar or the law prohibits.
And do not abuse the service itself: do not try to access other people's accounts or projects, get around plan limits or credit metering, overload our systems, or test our security outside the rules on our contact page.
If a site or account breaks these rules, we may unpublish the site, hide it from the community, suspend the account or close it. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
Build with experts
Build with experts is a service where our team builds a site for you with Laarpi and hands it over. Each project has its own written quote or agreement covering the scope, price, timeline and handover, and that document governs the project. These terms apply to your use of the Laarpi platform during and after the project. Details are on the experts page.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Laarpi at any time, cancel your plan from your settings, and ask us to delete your account at [email protected]. Our privacy policy explains what we delete and when.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we are required to by law. If we ever decide to shut down Laarpi, we will give you reasonable notice so you can copy your sites and move them.
Warranties and liability
We provide Laarpi as it is and as it is available. We do our best to make it work well, but we do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or right for every purpose, and we do not promise any particular result from a site you make with it.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost business, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Laarpi changes. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the studio before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms last changed. If you keep using Laarpi after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
