Refund Policy

When you can get money back for a Laarpi plan, how to ask, and how Polar, our merchant of record, processes it. Written in plain language. Draft pending legal review.

Updated

Draft, pending legal review. This is a plain-language draft of our refund policy. A lawyer is reviewing it before it becomes final. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Laarpi plans are paid through Polar, which acts as our merchant of record. Polar takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. When we approve a refund, Polar sends it back to the payment method you used. This page explains when we refund and how to ask. Plan details are on the pricing page, and the wider agreement is in our terms.

How credits work, and why it matters for refunds

Credits pay for the agent's work. Every turn, whether the agent is asking questions, writing the plan, building or taking your direction, costs what it really used in AI model time, rounded up to whole credits. That cost is real and immediate: when the agent works, we pay for it.

So refunds depend mostly on whether the plan has actually been used. A plan you bought and barely touched should come back to you. A month of credits spent building a site has already done its job.

When you get a full refund

Billing mistakes. If you were charged twice, charged after you had cancelled, or charged the wrong amount, we refund the mistaken charge in full. Tell us as soon as you notice.

A new plan you changed your mind about. If you ask within 14 days of your first payment on a paid plan, and you have used no more than 10% of that plan's monthly credits, we refund that payment in full and end the plan. For example, on Pro, with 250 credits a month, that means 25 credits or fewer.

This applies once per account for each plan, to the first payment on that plan. It applies to monthly and yearly billing.

Yearly plans

Within the first 14 days, the rule above applies. After that, you can cancel at any time and your plan runs to the end of the year you paid for, without renewing. We don't give partial refunds for the unused part of a year, except where the law requires it or a billing mistake was ours.

When a turn fails on our side

If an agent turn fails because of a fault on our side, such as an outage or an error in Laarpi itself, and credits were spent on it, tell us which project it happened in. We'll check the run and put the credits back on your balance. This is a credit to your balance, not a payment back to your card.

What we don't refund

  • Renewals of a plan you forgot to cancel, once you've used credits in the new period. You can cancel from your settings at any time, and the plan simply won't renew.
  • Credits used on turns that completed, including work you later decided you didn't like. You can restore any earlier version of your site at no cost.
  • Unused credits at the end of a month. They don't roll over and have no cash value.
  • Plans closed because the account broke our terms.

Cancelling

Cancel or change your plan from your settings in the studio. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. Until then, everything keeps working. After that, your projects, versions and published sites stay in your account, and paid features, such as custom domains and publishing without the "Made with Laarpi" mark, end.

Currencies and India pricing

Plans are charged in the currency shown at checkout: US dollars, euros or Indian rupees. Refunds are made in the currency you paid in, under the same rules. India prices are for people and teams based in India; a purchase made at India prices from elsewhere may be corrected rather than refunded.

Build with experts

Expert projects, where our team builds a site with Laarpi and hands it over, are quoted individually. Each project's written quote or agreement sets out how payment works, what happens if the scope changes, and its refund terms. If you have a question about an expert project, reply to the person you've been working with or write to [email protected]. See the experts page for how those projects work.

How to ask for a refund

  1. Email [email protected] from the email address on your Laarpi account.
  2. Include the date of the charge and the order or receipt number from Polar's email.
  3. Tell us briefly what happened.

We'll reply to confirm. Once we approve a refund, Polar processes it to your original payment method. Your bank or card provider may take several business days to show it.

Before you dispute a charge with your bank, please write to us first. Most problems are quick to fix, and a bank dispute usually takes weeks to settle.

Your rights under the law

Some countries give consumers extra rights, such as a right to cancel a digital service within a set period. This policy adds to those rights and never replaces them. If the law where you live gives you more, you get more.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you before the change takes effect. Payments made before a change are covered by the policy that applied when you paid. Questions are welcome on the contact page.

Questions

Fair questions

Can I get a refund on a new Laarpi plan?

Yes, within 14 days of your first payment on that plan, as long as you have used no more than 10% of the plan's monthly credits. Email [email protected] from your account address with your Polar receipt.

What if I was charged by mistake?

You get a full refund. That covers duplicate charges, a renewal after you had already cancelled, and charges at the wrong amount.

Do unused credits get refunded?

No. Credits are a monthly allowance that pays for the agent's work. They don't roll over and they have no cash value, except where a refund under this policy or the law applies.

What happens to my sites if I cancel?

They stay in your account and stay published. Your paid plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then paid features such as custom domains and publishing without the mark end.

Who actually sends the refund?

Polar, our merchant of record, which took the original payment. Approved refunds go back to the payment method you used, in the currency you paid in.

Does this policy cover Build with experts projects?

No. Each expert project has its own written quote or agreement, and its payment and refund terms are set out there.
